About Us
Welcome to the Think Big Science Carnival 2023-24!
The Think Big Science Carnival, the flagship event of our esteemed Think Big program, has been a beacon of inspiration for students to innovate and harness their critical thinking skills since its inaugural edition in 2019. That first year set a high standard, with over 200 students from 6 schools unveiling 53 groundbreaking projects across vital areas such as road safety, health, agriculture, disaster management, and energy conservation. Our journey through the years has been marked by resilience, innovation, and expansion, reflecting our commitment to fostering a generation of problem-solvers and creative thinkers.
In 2020, the unforeseen challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic led to the closure of schools worldwide, pushing us to adapt by transitioning to a virtual format. This shift did not dampen our spirits but instead broadened our reach, allowing 300 students from 13 schools to participate and make the event a grand success. Continuing in this vein, the 2021-22 edition saw over 200 project entries from an impressive 50 schools, demonstrating the unwavering enthusiasm and dedication of our participants, even amidst ongoing global challenges.
Last year, we embraced the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) recommended by the United Nations as our thematic foundation, guiding students to align their innovative projects with these global objectives. This integration not only enriched the carnival's impact but also encouraged students to consider their role in contributing to a sustainable future.
This year, we are poised to elevate the Think Big Science Carnival to new heights. As we gear up for our fifth consecutive year, we are thrilled to announce the participation of three additional schools from Thane, expanding our vibrant community of innovators. With a renewed focus on the SDGs, this year's carnival promises to be more dynamic, inclusive, and impactful than ever.

Future Cities: Innovating for Sustainability
Students will apply their creativity and problem-solving skills to come up with solutions for pressing problems in the themes outlined. They will kickstart their journey by identifying and conducting research on relevant issues, followed by the development of solution-based prototypes to address these challenges. This self-driven learning process is not only anticipated to enrich students’ knowledge in STEM subjects but also to inspire a sense of responsibility towards society and our planet.
As the annual culminating event of the Think Big Program, the Science Carnival serves as a powerful platform for students to consolidate and apply their learnings from the program to practical scenarios. It is an opportunity for them to demonstrate their achievements, engage with real-world problems, and contribute meaningful solutions.
Join us as we celebrate innovation, creativity, and the power of young minds to make a difference. The Think Big Science Carnival is not just an event; it's a milestone in our journey towards a better world.
